AT&T has just released an update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920A). The latter will move the device current Android Marshmallow OS to build version N920AUCS4CQB2. Just like the previous updates that bears the monthly Android security patches, so this one also carry the February 1, 2017 Android security patch level.

Here goes the details;

What's New: Android Security Patch Updates - February 2017

Device name: SAMSUNG-SM-N920A

Model number: SM-N920A

Android version: 6.0.1

Android security patch level: February 1, 2017

Baseband version: N920AUCS4CQB2

Kernel version: 3.10.61-8961126

However, even though it's only brings the new security pacthes, but the update files size weighs at hefty 167 MB.  So probably there might be some minor bug-fixes and other enhancements hitting on the device system.

How to Update the Galaxy Note 5 via Over-The-Air OTA?

  1. From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
  2. Tap the Settings (gear icon).
  3. Tap the System tab.
  4. Tap About device.
  5. Tap Software update.
  6. Tap Check for updates.
  7. Tap the Install button, then OK.
  8. Wait until the phone completely reboot before touching it. It may reboot (turn on and off) multiple times as the update might still at its finalization stage.

However, if somehow the update isn’t available yet, you should also consider that the rolling out usually take in stages and it may take into several days before it reaches all the AT&T Galaxy Note5 devices. So you may have to keep on checking until you’ll see the update.
