Verizon Galaxy Note5 February 2017 Security Update to N920VVRS3BQB1

Verizon is sending out an OTA update dubbed as build version N920VVRS3BQB1 for the Galaxy Note5 devices. Noting that this phone receives frequent updates in a monthly basis just to bring the Android security patch updates. And yet another month comes around and so does the security patch will level up to February 2017.

On a side note, it's not the most anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update yet but it has stayed still in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Verizon does not even released any Nougat updates on Galaxy S7 and S7 edge so far.  So it quite unsure to when that much awaited Nougat update will arrive onto your precious Galaxy Note5.

It is just small OTA update, so it won't bother that much of your time to take the update.  The roll out usually takes into several days, but if you haven't received the notification message yet, you may just simply fire up that software update in your device settings.

How to Update the Galaxy Note5 via Over-The-Air (OTA)

The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note5 to a Wi-Fi network to avoid high data charges. Ensure that your device battery is recharged before performing the software update.
  • From the device Home screen, simply touch Apps.
  • Touch the Settings (gear icon).
  • Touch the System tab.
  • Touch About device.
  • Touch Software update.
  • Touch Check for updates. It will then prompts you to the new software update.
  • Lastly, touch the Install button, then OK.
