AT&T Galaxy Note5 Update version N920AUCS4CQA1, January 2017 Security Patch

AT&T Galaxy Note5 receives an OTA update to build version N920AUCS4CQA1. The update will apply the new Android security patches and has moved its level from December 1, 2016 to January 1, 2017. Though it isn't the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update yet and it's still stayed in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but it is just a minor OTA update weighing at just 57.1MB in size. So it couldn't bother anyone to take the update at the very least.

Here goes the technical details of the said update:

  • Android version: 6.0.1
  • Android security patch level: January 1, 2017

  • Baseband version: N920AUCS4CPL1
  • Kernel version: 3.10.61-8961126
  • Build number: MMB29K.N920AUCS4CPL1

The roll out starts on February 08,  2017 and the deployments could take at approximately 15 days or until it completely covered all AT&T Galaxy Note5 devices.

How to Update the Galaxy Note 5 via Over-The-Air OTA?

  1. From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
  2. Tap the Settings (gear icon).
  3. Tap the System tab.
  4. Tap About device.
  5. Tap Software update.
  6. Tap Check for updates.
  7. Tap the Install button, then OK.
  8. Wait until the phone completely reboot before touching it. It may reboot (turn on and off) multiple times as the update might still at its finalization stage.

However, if somehow the update isn’t available yet, you should also consider that the released usually take in stages and may also take into several days before it arrive in some areas. So you may have to wait and keep on checking until you’ll see the update.
